Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.

The win also means he has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my children at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, including in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an better serving game.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The competitors swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, gained dominance to create a third set.

Moutet saved four early opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned the title with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
